An 18 year old male has been arrested today at Manchester Airport on suspicion of ‘Syria-related’ terrorist offences. The man who is from Birmingham was arrested by police after arriving in the UK this morning. It is likely thought to be in connection with the man travelling to Syria to join ISIS, then later fleeing the terror group, back to Britain.
This comes after Three other men and a woman were held in Birmingham recently, and also a 26-year-old man was intercepted on the Friday morning at Gatwick Airport.
It is expected these arrests will only increase throughout the year, with an estimated 2,000 British citizens travelling to Iraq & Syria to wage war since the conflict began.
