Brexit Groups who have been competing for the official status as ‘the Leave Campaign’ have agreed to put any difference aside and work together in a mass movement in the run up to the 23rd of June British EU Referendum.
In a mood of unity, they have agreed after Vote Leave were chosen as the official campaign. Supporters of Grassroots Out, a head to head rival in securing the official status, have promised to continue its full campaign.
Nigel Farage (UKIP Leader) whom is a strong advocate for the Grassroots Out movement, offered his congratulations to Vote Leave, and insisted that both groups could begin to work together towards the goal of Britain leaving the EU
Mr Farage said: “I congratulate Vote Leave on getting designation. “UKIP decided to back Grassroots Out on the basis that they saw the importance of the immigration issue in this referendum”
“We wanted to reach out across the country at a grassroots level and work with everyone – from the left, center and right of British politics – to get our country out of the EU.”
The Electoral Commission, the watchdog in charge of the decision, said both groups had made “high-quality applications”.
