The petition which was set up to make the British Government invoke Article 50 of the Lisbon Treaty, has just surpassed 100,000 signatures.
Parliament must consider all petitions that get more than 100,000 signatures for a debate in the Houses of Parliament. It is still open to signatures here: https://petition.parliament.uk/petitions/133618
The petition was likely pushed to such high levels of signatures by a joint frustration of Brexit Voters, who had to endure endless demonstrations by remain voters shortly after the result, who called for a second referendum to take place, or for the initial result to be ignored completely.
The country has also been apprehensive over the appointment of the now Prime Minister, Theresa May, who gave her loyalty to the Remain Campaign during the EU Referendum Debates.
News on the upcoming parliament debate will follow shortly after a date is officially set.
